Fx Kollektiv is an ensemble from Basel that focuses on new music. Its musical styles encompass contemporary classical music, improvisation and experimental music that makes use of electronics and media. Fx Kollektiv explores the essence of sounds and seeks through collaboration with composers and artists to elaborate its own ensemble language. Fx breaks away from the traditional duo saxophone-piano formation and embraces new sound horizons. For this purpose they use electronic or prepared instruments, work with live electronics or use as yet little explored instruments such as the tubax or different synthesizers. 

Fx is based on a keyboard/piano and saxophone duo but lives up to the name "Kollektiv" by regularly doing projects with renowned international artists, be it instrumentalists, dancers or visual artists. 

The musicians of this group can look back on a long stage career: they have participated in renowned festivals for new music and premiered works by young and already well-known composers such as Nadir Vassena, Andreas Frank, Joseph Michaels, Ezko Kikoutchi or Verena Weinmann. At the same time, they have been awarded numerous prizes at national and international competitions.
